Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I bought a pair of Kneissl Red Stars.

I demo'd a pair of their White Stars at the last EOSB and loved them to bits. They are one of the oldest ski firms going, and make some damned good quality kit. Just make sure that the model you get is suitable for how you want to use it and the stiffness matches your weight / ability and you can't go wrong Smile

They're great skis, I love my Black Stars. However as far as I can tell the factory closed a couple of years ago and no skis have been produced since Sad I think that Tim at Kneissl-UK must have got most of the remaining stock and you'll be lucky to find any elsewhere, so get 'em while you can.

spyderjon, The website might still there but the factory isn't. Show me anywhere in the world that's selling them new other than Kneissl UK. They'll be few and far between, if any. I got mine last year from skitreff.de and the only other places I could find them were Kneissl-UK and ebay.

They went bust in 2011, with JJA Beteiligungsverwaltungs GmbH becoming the sole owner, but I've no idea about the state of the business since then
