Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dotty runs on piste maps???

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Chaps and Chapesses,

Forgive what may seem like a fairly stupid or "noobish" question, but was pondering the joys of Tignes via the interactive map at http://www.tignes.net/en/skiing-in-tignes/ski-run-map-28.html and was a little confused as to what the dotty path things are supposed to represent.

A couple of examples include the thing labelled as Golf (running from Merles to Tignes le lac) and Guerlain Chi Che rit (from the top of the Col de Ves lift)... Are these roads, or super tough pistes or something even more fun like fissures down to the Earth's core?

Thanks in advance

R

Without looking at the map, off piste ittineries? But more likely fissures down to the Earth's core populated with wolves and stuff.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Marked but unpisted runs aka "Piste Nature"? If you see a piste marker with "AS" and a little arrow on it then best avoid.

They are race and competition pistes. They are usually fenced off.

Dont worry I have never seen any Orcs, but you get the odd Dementor if you 'accidentally' stray into a race area. wink

I think those are the dashed lines (stade de slalom, stade de lognan competition) and the dotted lines are "naturides" (ungroomed runs)

Ungroomed - natural - pistes.

The Col de Ves chair must be the slowest in the world (possibly because it was zero visibility and snowing at the time).
