I need to get from Val Thorens to Les Deux Alpes on the 14th December but I have no idea how. Does anyone know the easiest/ cheapest way to do this? Any advice helpful. Thanks.

Bus to Moutier down in the valley then train to Chambery and another train to Grenoble (both an hour or less , I think) then bus or taxi to Deux Alpes. In both cases the bus station is just outside the train station. Lots of trains on those lines.

Transfer company to take you to Grenoble (or Chambery) airport and another to get from Grenoble to LDA?

that sounds good to me. The cheapest way, and feasible, is to hitch, provided you don't have ridiculous amounts of lumber with you.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Will definitely have a ski bag so hitching would be difficult

I think bens bus (www.bensbus.co.uk) do transfers to both locations from Grenoble airport so they might be able to link the two up to complete the journey ? certainly worth asking them

I once skied with a suitcase in each hand descending from a chalet up the slopes. It was surprisingly easy: helps you keep a still upper body.

I wouldn't go via Orelle unless you have a helicopter waiting for you. . . .
