Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

German ski racing star Hilde Gerg, who won the slalom gold mdeal at the Nagano Winter Olympics in 1998, has retired following a serious knee injury during training at Copper Mountain, Colorado, last week.

"I am very frustrated but there is no point any more," Gerg told Bild daily.

Gerg was expected to be one of Germany's skiing medal hopes at the 2006 winter games in Turin, next February.

It makes you wonder how many ski racers get through their careers without serious injury. This is a summary of the casualty list so far this season...

Just last week our top junior girl in Les Arcs crashed out during downhill training up at Tignes, a badly fractured tibia. These guys just aren't paid enough, when you compare them to the likes of footballers!

If you're in the, say, top thousand soccer stars worldwide, you would probably be earning anything from a million quid a year up, some on ten times that...

If you're no 93 worldwide in an alpine skiing discipline, you would probably be earning .... nowt.

Room for some movement, I reckon.

I think George's drinking helmet (shown in the link below) was one of the problems
