Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

calling any Vancouver locals...

am heading there for a 3ish night stop before heading up to Sun Peaks for a few days skiing, and v happily looks like I'll be in Vancouver when an ice hockey game is on, Wed 29th Jan v Chicago.

any suggestions on best seating area to go for would be good, plus if anyone happens to be in town late Jan and fancies a few beers let me know.

yet to book accommodation for Vancouver - any recommendations on good places to stay (not mega pricey) would be great too.

Not a local, but I suspect you may not have a lot of choice about where you sit - we went to a couple of games in Florida last month and even there we didn't get a huge choice even booking on the day tickets went on sale. For a Calgary/Vancouver game last year, the only tickets available were in the very top tier, and then only 2 per customer (thankfully we got the third in the same section) - again that was the day they went on sale.

At the Calgary games we found that the atmosphere in the 'cheap seats' (they call it the 'true fan zone') was really good and while the ice was a fair distance away you could see the whole rink for a good overview and we had plenty of big screens at that level for the replays.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

thanks Yellow Pyranha, managed to get a ticket upstairs (not v top deck tho), having spoken to a few yanks yesterday who assured me that there indeed is where all the fun is to be had. Decent price too.
