Poster: A snowHead

Any reviews or experience on these skis? Looking for that all mountain ski that still performs really good on the piste, but providing enough float in the powder

I'm not willing to go for such a wide ski Peterkct, I just don't think that freeride ski is for me. I want a ski thats versatile, probably orienteered more towards on piste. 60/40, but I'll settle for a 50/50

Though old threads have been known to go a bit mouldy, I think your last one was still fresh enough to be continued.
Incidentally, if you weren't totally settled on those two skis and nothing else, I have a pair of Rossignol S3s I keep meaning to put on ebay. PM me if you were interested.

So guys any reviews on the Q98's?

Skied both back to back, but only at chill factor... q98 was nice but a bit lifeless - Sick Day put a big grin on my face. But saying that, just ordered some Souls

Dashed, On snow verging on the slushy at MK tests a couple of weeks ago, I found Q98 more predictable and easier than SDs, which I found a bit hooky. BUT that may be because I ski in a rather traditional way. Like you however, I have bought Souls. I have used them for a couple of hours at Hemel, and found them better than when I tried them at MK. I expect to use them on piste a bit more than off, and am only microscopically worried that my coffin-dodging, arthritic knees will find them wearing, since they enjoy a tight 17m radius. I shall find out for real in a week's time, when I have my first trip to the Alps for this season. Souls rule

What height/weight/ability are you? Currently dithering between 180cm and 188cm (I'm 182cm and 75kgs). Know I could get away with the 188s but like my skis snappy so pretty set if 180s

You know it makes sense.

I am 176cm, 79kg, advanced. Also, being of mature years, I tend to ski at a lower speed than I can safely manage, rather than at a faster speed than I can safely manage, as one tends to do when younger.
I bought 180s, which do not feel too long by any means - they are very manoeuvrable. One thing I like about them is that they do not snatch or try to force you into a fixed radius turn if you want to skid to take off speed. There is a guide to length on the Rossignol website (scroll down the Soul 7 page), which would suggest 180 if you are intermediate, 188 if expert.
