Jasmin is an excellent skier but I can't help feeling that it's an uphill struggle to get tele into the Olympics given the very fringe nature of tele racing. Mind you it's probably more justified than ski aerials which just doesn't exist other than in comp format.

Isn't tele already represented in XC and biathlon?
fatbob, hopefully a sucessful series of slopestyle events this year can finally nail the aerial ski coffin shut.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

No, that's cross-country - you will not see a telemark turn in either discipline.
I can't say I see a good reason for including telemark. Fine to have national championships, etc. but unless in a dual format there is no real new spectacle. You could equally ask for a one hand behind the back race to be included (and I have enjoyed telemark in the few attempts I made at it).

Can't really see it working as a race event, unless its how close they can come to a perfect marker time.
Maybe add a style component? Competitors rated on the quality, tighness, uniformity and smoothness of their turns, pants and facial hair.

Make the terrain super-hilly and you'll see tele turns being used.
I agree there's no justification for a tele only race. But one can design a course that strongly favors tele...
Exmple: a mtn bike xc course, no one can win it on a road bike! So the race doesn't dictate the equipment choice, just the competitors all use one kind of equipment

There are currently specific Telemark competitions that seem to be easy enough to blend into the Olympics. As others have pointed there are other less worthy examples already in. Never tried it myself but like the look of it.

Trying to get Tele in the Olympics is a great way to add other sports, I.e. skiercross. I forget what else they've added when there is a push for Tele, but Tele always gets set aside. Still I really enjoyed the opening ceremonies of Norway's winter games, some great exhibitions of telemark skiing. Classic Tele racing is entertaining but not really dual friendly.
