Poster: A snowHead
|
Does anyone know if I can just pop some happy hot feet into my ski boots, even though I have custom insoles? I was planning to go back to Profeet to get the heaters fitted properly into the soles, but then I happened to notice the others at a fraction of the price. Clearly, I don't want to undo all the good work my custom insoles have done though...
Thanks!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Shawsy, i think all of the boot heating systems have versions that can be glued on to your fitted soles. I favour the Conformable ones.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Shawsy, If you are looking at the Happy Hot Feat on Sports Pursuit and your boots have been fitted correctly I think it is highly unlikely you would get these to fit from memory the dimensions given stated they were 12mm at the heel (as I think that is where batteries are stored) most of the other systems have an external battery system so are a lot thinner so can be used with your custom insoles. If you have an additional12mm to play with in your heal you are probably in the wrong boots

You might also look at heated socks as an option (Therm-ic / X-Socks), then you can use them in your street shoes too

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Shawsy, they won't fit on top of a custom footbed, the only type you can use effectively is the thermic/comformable/hotronic sort with the thin elements that go onto the footbed and the external battery packs, make sure if you do get them that you have them fitted properly, they can be a PITA to do and some elements are more rigid than others so you may feel them depending on your footbed
