Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

compact still camera for POV video?

I don't want to spend money on a GoPro or Contour etc when my Canon G15 compact still camera has very good HD Video. Although the wide angle is not as wide as th eusual POV video cameras it should still do a good job. Has anyone experience of using a compact camera for POV video? I was thinking of improvising a chest mount with the standard neck strap and a bungee around my chest to keep it still. If anyone could post video links even better.

GoPro chest harness and stick one of their mounts on the back of the camera?

Biggest issue is probably lack of water and shock-proofing.

We can modify most of the GoPro mounts, accessories for use with a compact camera if you go that route. As long as it has 1/4-20tpi tripod thread on it.
