Hello everyone:
I am looking for a responsive and serious binding for my board. I was recommended Ride Double Agent.
Unfortunately, I cannot find them for sale anywhere in my size (Medium or Small).
Does anyone have them for sale ?
They are not even listed on the Ride web site any loner. Does that mean they have been replaced by a newer model ?
If so, does anyone know what it's called ?
Alternatively, can you recommend a responsive (stiffer than normal) and comfortable bindings for the serious piste carver ?
Many thanks for your attention :
R.

I use Burton Diode bindings on a board that I use for carving. Not sure that they're the most comfortable, but that's down to the nature of the stiffness. The forward lean adjustment is fiddly initially, but works fine once you get it how you want it. Really like them, although looking a bit knackered after only one season.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ride Capo, Rome Targa, Flux SF or the Diodes.

Perhaps check out the Union Contact Pros - stiff and very light. I've had a set for a couple of seasons and they've lasted well, are really comfortable and have a kind of hybrid toe cap that can either sit over the end of your boot or on top depending on your preference.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The double agent is a discontinued model
If your looking for a binding for serious carving I'd look at the Union Charger. There about as stiff as you can get

Hello everyone:
Thanks for all your suggestions.
After some research I've short-listed the following: Ride Capo - Union Factory - Rome Targa.
The one that comes in my size (Small / Medium) and is reasonably priced is the Rome Targa.
I would have preferred the Union Charger or Factory but they are twice the price and only come in larger sizes (I wear size 6 UK/7 US boots).
Union only do a S/M size in their Atlas model and not in theri other models such as Contact Pro, Charger, Factory etc..
I just thought to share my final thoughts with you before committing to a purchase.
So, Rome Targa or (tolerate the larger size and price) and go for a Union ?
Help me ?

Hi, I'm surprised that you can't get the Unions in a s/m - I'm UK 7 and have the contact pros in a medium (size 7-10). Still a few clicks left on the ratchets so they're not cranked all the way to the end. Maybe worth double checking, though sure that the Romes will be more than up to the job. Enjoy

Union have 3 size modes: S/M M/L L/XL
I can get the top end Unions in a M/L which is what you have, but not in a S/M which what would suit me best.
They only do the Atlas in a S/M.
I'm a UK 6, so how do you think Contact Pros would fit me ?
I'm more interested in how the Bindings hug the boot (Heel cup, Chassis etc..) and not only the Straps?
Thanks.

Hmm, think it might be touch and go with a size 6, so you're probably best going with whatever you can get in a smaller size. With a 7 they hug beautifully - never had any issues with the boot moving in the heel cup, loads of support and adjustability in the highback and you just have to make sure the weird toe cap is sitting properly before you tighten it.

BoardLover, I think your best option is to try to get to a shop and try the fit. Different boots and bindings are different shapes so they'll fit together better, my Salomon f22s fit in my Union Forces way better than they did in Burton Missions, both of which are/were the "right" size. I know it's a pain, but it I reckon a test fit is your best bet. (unless someone on here has your make/model/size of boot and binding, which is fairly unlikely).

BoardLover, dude Contact Pro's are more freestyle orientated binding totally inappropriate (though not impossible) for your riding.

jiagedaping, I also have some burton diodes, i like them, but also after one season looking a bit worn. The white dots (black and white) have gone a yellow colour. Does n't affect performance but on a top of the range binding.... really.

You know it makes sense.

Thanks to all of you fr all the advice.
The sad thing is that in this day an age, no high-street shop stocks more than 2 bindings if you are lucky.
And I don't live anywhere near any specialist centres that might stock all the bindings of interest to me.
But I shall persevere, and order the Rome Targa, and go from there.
Unless someone has a compelling argument in support of Union Charger/Factory ?
Be Well. R

Same - and the material on one of the straps has torn, and the foam's coming off the highbacks and wearing through... I ride 4-5 days a week all season, but even so! I also stripped one of the screws you use for adjusting the highback forward lean - had to drill it out, emailed Burton for some new ones and got sent a whole set too big! Had to file 4 or 5 of them down to keep as replacements.
I do like the bindings when my feet are strapped into them and I've stopped worrying about looks though

(thread swerve..)
Well they never did actually stock much stuff in the UK. If anything the local flatland fashion has improved things, but even so, they have to be focused on fairly new riders who will walk in and buy stuff they have never ridden.
I wonder if the sad thing is not...
(a) That most manufacturers don't even market their full range in the UK, and what they do sell is twice the price.
(b) That people take the chance of buying snow-sports gear in the UK where you can't try it out and can't get it fixed if it breaks.
