When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Volgograd bus bombing raises questions of Sochi terrorism threat again

The suicide blast this week on a bus in southern Russia is likely to raise fears of further attacks by Islamist militants in the run up to the Winter Olympics The Russian Investigative Committee has opened an investigation into the potential terrorist bomb explosion in which 6 people died and 28 were injured. According to the Guardian, athletes and spectators attending the Winter Olympics in Sochi in February will face some of the most invasive and systematic spying and surveillance in the history of the Games.
