Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ben wright, Diable is not as steep as Valentin, and deffo not as steep as Grande Pente or Sapins, but it's still a worthy black! Funny how things look different from a different perspective isn't it?

moffatross, Is that Les Sagnes? I highly recommend Le Bon Cannon at the bottom of the Valentin next time you're in town. Very Happy

Diable is a great run, Valentin is definitely steeper, Grande Couloir steeper still. All good fun though. I shall definitely be back.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The photo though is "Super Diable" which IIRC starts at about 3200 meters, is a completely different run to Diable and certainly seemed to me to be a steeper, much narrower and altogether less forgiving run than either Diable or Valentin. Those two both drop from 2600 metres and I think being major routes to the village are thoroughly and regularly groomed.

It may have been, other end fronted the main street & was very close to Noel Sport. We stayed near Club Med so Valentin was our route back down with a slide across the fields too Smile so we tended to head towards the city centre (near Jandri express !).

moffatross, Yes - it was your broad shot of the face which provoked the comments on the various runs. Personally I hate the Valentin in the afternoon and never ski it if I can help it. I much prefer the unpisted routes of Grande Pente (steep) and Posettes which cuts across the green run in several places. Super Diable is very steep, fab in fresh snow, but can be pretty tricky if the going gets hard!! It starts at around 2800m and goes down to 2400 where it becomes the Petit Diable and then the Diable itself if you ski the whole thing.

Yes - that is Les Sagnes in that case. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
