Poster: A snowHead

The emphasis on fat-midfat big mountain and backcountry off-piste skis has been going like gangbusters the last few years, and for good reason. There are some awesome designs for powder addicts from nearly every company out there. What people have perhaps forgotten is the small, innovative builders are also making some excellent frontside carvers and all-mountain designs under 90mm underfoot.
We are putting together a test of some frontside skis from smaller ski companies and wanted to ask the Snowheads crowd if they have some skis from this less "industrial" collection of more than 300 ski companies besides Nordica, Elan, Fischer, Head, Rossignol, Salomon, Dynastar, K2, Volkl...etc. they would like to see reviewed. No guarantee we can get test skis from any companies you suggest, but we're curious to see what brands come to mind and which models interest the crowd, and will see what we can do to get the skis on-snow and review them thoroughly. We already have several skis lined up...and are looking for your ideas.
Let us know what you think. Feel free to reply to this thread with suggestions.

Movement le Fer?
A cracking piste carver from an unlikely source.
I've got a pair, but I'm happy to spread the word.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes...excellent suggestion...their dual-titanal construction carver would be a great ski to add to the test. Request has been submitted to Movement....Great work...keep them coming!

My quiver has expanded this season and one of the skis I'm really looking forward to playing on is the Idris Skis Renard courtesy of our very own Idris.

Nobile are making some very nice piste skis with some interesting compressed core technology http://www.nobileskis.com/nobileskis2013.pdf and I've seen some great skis out of a new company called Exonde. A Swiss company, owned and operated by a former WC racer. Happy to supply Exonde's email Eric if you want it.

I'd love to read more reviews and learn more about skis in the 80-90ish range. I would like to know about other options for all mountain and touring skis (not specifically touring but that I could use for that purpose) that I might not otherwise come across from the major suppliers. Specifically interested in all mountain skis which provide decent performance on and off piste.
