Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

It looks as if a certain number of these boots are being recalled from shop stock due to an issue of some plastic shattering when they go back into hike mode. This may affect availability for a short while as the firm is already shipping new stock out to cover the recalls. I'm not sure how many are affected or what the specific problem is, hopefully more information will be forthcoming.

They seem a lovely boot though; I had a look at a pair today.

The only issue is the fact that first prod was 600 pairs, now there's a few of them on the road, still a dangerous, serial numbers will mean it's not a problem, unless the store that has them doesn't know.

Cheers, that's good to know. I was told that it was an early batch, the new replacement ones were fine. I'll have to wait a bit to try a pair on. I know there were a few people waiting for them to come out.

Quick question... have you ever ground down a touring sole front and glued a DIN binding compatible plate onto them?

I only posted as I was in a shop and they were sending their stock back and saying the new ones would be a couple of weeks coming in.
