Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Is it possible to get a transfer from Grenoble to Sauze D'Oulx?

So we've settled on the Milky Way for the lads trip in January. Flight options are LPL-GRB or MAN-TRN.

I know Turin is closer but we'd prefer LPL as it's more convenient but wondered whether we could get a transfer rather than hire a car?

halfhand, I wouldn't have thought so , unless you can book a private transfer, you could try Alpine Transfer company. http://www.alpine-transfer-company.com/en/transfer-towns/serre-chevalier
It may be possible to do it by train, and then taxi up from Oulx/Bardonecchia to Sauze, but not sure.

halfhand, it's quite a distance.

Hells Bells, Thanks, I guess car hire is also a possibility.

halfhand, indeed it is. My geography of that neck of the woods is clearly rubbish. Still think you'll be hiring a car though!

Cheers mate but I couldn't be arsed filling in more info fields. If you know one, post the details or pm rather than linking me to a general search form wink

Hells Bells, you all didn't give me suggestions as only 3 people responded. Your suggestion and under a new name was helpful and many thanks but I didn't find , Dia_FindTransfers, helpful so I thought I'd say so. But thanks anyway. Smile

halfhand, the way our site works the one form gets e-mailed to all the local companies that operate in the area. The companies who are interested in your request send you a quote directly. In this case there are 17 potential transfer companies. http://www.findtransfers.com/results.asp?strFromPost=Grenoble-Is%C3%A8re+Airport%2C+Saint-%C3%89tienne-de-Saint-Geoirs%2C+France&strToPost=Sauze+d%27Oulx%2C+Turin%2C+Italy&fromLatLng=45.3601%2C+5.332022000000052&toLatLng=45.013183%2C+6.8710124000000405&x=85&y=16

You can of course contact them directly, we are just trying to make it quicker, sorry if it's not useful for you! Have a great trip. Smile

Turin by far the best option.
Surely better / easier / cheaper to do the extra travelling this side (i.e. driving to Manchester rather than Liverpool) and then save yourself loads of hassle and cost the other side??

jirac18, jellemr, Hells Bells, I agree too but as in the OP, Liverpool is more convenient as a departure point and unfortunately apartment is Sat - Sat. Ergo, flight from Liverpool is the one. Anyway it's out of my hands as it's been booked. The advantage of not organising is that I can moan at someone else when it goes belly up Toofy Grin

halfhand, have you sorted out your transfer to Sauze yet? If not I run the website sauzeonline.com and I can arrange transfers to the resort from all major airports. Get a quote online at http://www.sauzeonline.com/airport-transfers/ or just let me know how many are travelling and I'll give you a price.

...think you'll be doing a lot of moaning at your mate that booked this. Grenoble airport is in the middle of nowhere and takes about half an hour to get to Grenoble city for trains and other transport options and will make the journey very long by the time you've got your connections.

A hire car or private transfer are the only options. As it's not a regular route people take, a private van will be the only choice probably, as I doubt anyone will be going that way and a shared transfer will be out. You'll be doing well to get much change out of 500 Euros each way, baring in mind that is over 50 just to get through the Frejus tunnel one way, without the rest of the tolls. Have a look at the Coolbus website as well.

Good luck!

You can book a private transfer from Grenoble to Sauze d'Oulx for €330 one way. From Turin it's €140 one way - www.sauzeonline.com/airport-transfers/
I'd seriously consider Man to Turin!

Hi musher, season dates this year are 6/12/13 - 13/4/14.

Easter is late this year and it's a pity that they are not staying open for it but the last arrivals day for the big UK tour operators is the 30th March.
Means they'll be some great skiing to be had the last week of the season if anyone fancies a DIY trip.
