Poster: A snowHead

What's Tignes like for skiing in late November? I'm heading over to France in November for a few weeks and after not getting a chance to ski last season, I'm now thinking about heading up to Tignes for a couple of days. It'll probably be the 2nd last week in November.
The website says that they start to open more of the area as snow allows but what does this mean? Will it be just back to the village from the glacier or will some of the other runs be open?

Burnsy, If you tell us when it will snow in November then we can suggest what runs will be open.

Burnsy,
If the snow cover is good enough top of glacier to Val Claret. Other runs will not open until opening of Espace Killy, late november

Before Espace Killy's scheduled opening at the end of November, it will indeed mean only the glacier plus Double M run back to the village if there is sufficient snow.
For your infoBurnsy, it is reasonably certain that the run to the bottom will be open by mid November - on either man made or natural snow. If I recall correctly, since 2007 the run to Val Claret has always been officially open sometime from the 3rd to 14th November and usually on natural snow.
If you haven't skied for a while, the glacier alone is definitely worth a couple of days skiing - with 2000 feet of vertical on offer. If Double M is open, that makes it 4000 vertical feet - which is a meanigful ski run in anybody's book .

Yes, I think the Tignes site is being economic with the actuality. The rest of the resort only comes on line from the EK opening.
Never been there that early. If snow is poor-ish the resort is not completely open until Christmas week. Good snow may mean the week before.
As you will only be there a couple of days I would give it a go. If you are considering more skiing this winter it will at least get the ski legs going after missing 12/13.

I have been to Tignes in the last week of November 3 out of the last 4 years, and there has always been snow down to at least Val Claret (via Double M). 2 of the years a bunch of other runs were open to, including the blues from Palafour, and also a few on the other side -e.g. Piste H.
