Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Champoluc Chalets

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Any recommendations for self catering luxury chalets in Champoluc, preferably within walking distance of a lift? Having great difficulty trying to find anything at all. We are a group of 9-13 inc children. Are there not some decent private chalets that are possible to rent there?

schussmonger, I know of only one chalet, but it's catered and a 15 minute drive to the lifts - very nice though Very Happy Seems to be a good variety of hotels of various sizes and ratings

Its funny, I was told by an estate agent in France that its only the Brits who want a chalet next to the lift or ski or ski out, she said most chalets especially catered chalets are built as family homes really & are built in little hamlets just like we have in the UK, she said all other Europeans mostly drive & either use the free ski bus or drive & park at the lifts, we always now drive to the alps saves us a fortune of flight costs Very Happy & we can take all our own kit including skis etc

Dont get me wrong I have an apartment that is ski in ski out but I have been looking to buy a chalet & 98% of the ones we have seen are a 10 min drive to the slopes. which to be honest is no hassle at all

I have skied in Champoluc its lovely we had to drive from our hotel every morning in heavy snow but it was dead easy & it has a large parking area not far from the lift good luck

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
