Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all

looking for help to find a suitable resort

we are 5 40 somethings more interested in skiing than nightlife and have done and enjoyed lots of geneva based ski weekends(morzine, verbier,le grand bonard,vt,) and also sestriere via turin. We are looking to fly to munich to sample some different resorts but unsure where to try . we like big ski areas, chalet accomodation , a nice bar for an apres ski beer

any ideas where we should be looking within 2 hours of munich would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Are you looking for a ski weekend from Munich also, or a full week?

going downhill fast, look into Kitzbühel, Ski Welt, Ski Amade, Zillertal, or slightly more than 2 hours would be Saalbach, St.Anton, Ischgl, Sölden. The list is too long to mention really.

GDF, have you seen the SkiRail Map of the Alps?
It shows you tons of resorts and highlights the ones you can reach by rail.

There are quite a few within 2 hours'train ride of Munich. Garmisch is the obvious one but there are plenty others.
Good luck!

going downhill fast, if by "chalet accommodation" you mean Brit-style catered chalet you will find comparatively little choice outside France. But if you just mean "food provided" then the range of possibilities becomes much greater.

Also, why do you need a "big ski area" for a weekend? Le Grand Bornand is not exactly "big" though it's very nice.
