Chemmy has update her FB and twitter feed, apparently a clean break and is already weight bearing, she is saying she will miss the first couple of races but will be back and fit for Sochi. I guess time will tell but certainly a big blow to what was probably going to be her last competitive season.

I wish I had her mental strength and belief... How she keeps going astonishes me.
I'm really not sure what drives her.
I understand Sochi is her last big effort... but what in her mind would be deemed a success?

Putting yourself through so much physical and hard work everyday... in the feint hope that lady luck will be with you on 'the day' seems astonishing to me.
On the other hand... perhaps she just loves it and knows nothing else...

As for what keeps her going, the emotional side of me can see that she's keen to keep doing something she loves and to achieve the best she can from it, and that she knows nothing else. The cold hard logical side says that participation in the Winter Olympics would add to her chances of a media role while she builds a new career to fund the next 50+ years of her life. Either way, I wish her luck.
