Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chamonix 8th Feb to 15th Feb

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I will be in Chamonix from 8th to 15th Feb with my girlfriend, who is a non-skier, though she may give it a try. I would say I'm a good intermediate, and I've been to Chamonix several times, so I know my way around. If anyone is in the area on those dates and would like someone to ski with then get in touch, it's always nicer to have some company to ski with.

Also, if any non-skiers would like someone to see the sights with then get in touch too. My girlfriend hasn't been before and would like some company to go and see the Aiguille du Midi, Montenvers, etc. I'll be skiing all day every day and she will go around on her own, but some company is always good.

piste_again, your girlfriend might be interested in some of the organised activities, such as snow-shoeing, for non-skiers.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If I were his girlfriend I'd be more interested in finding a new boyfriend!

Hopefully they are self catering and she can have a nice dinner waiting for him and do the dishes while he is having a relaxing long soak. Afterwards she can run him down to that nice gentleman's club by the casino. Keep her busy and take her mind off any selfish thoughts. Ladies... know your place.

If you join the SCGB (does the swear filter allow that?!) then I've always had good fun with their rep-led groups in the valley, albeit they meet at Argentiere so you'd be on the bus each day. Does "good intermediate" mean you happily ski lots of off piste?

Bear in mind its peak half term week (UK + Paris) so you'll want to be on the lifts pretty early each day, and I wouldn't touch Flegere with a bargepole unless you have queue-jumping privileges.

I think that week is the previous week - fortunately for the OP. But it will still be pretty busy.

I'll likely be there, depending on work.

Maybe keep an eye out for a new version of this closer to the start of the season, and look at SCGB reps as mentioned above.

piste_again, I think you picked right place to go with non-skiing partner as there is plenty for non-skiers to do and many other non-skiers so she won't feel like spare tool. Also if she does get into it and you are are skiing at different levels in a few years you won't be making it to Chamonix as you won't be even able to meet for lunch. Have a great one
