Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

dulcamara, Will PM you later tomorrow with lots of info, been doing some networking out here and sussing it out for you, just waiting for some feedback and will get it to you. You'll then need to fire off a few emails but the offers will come back. I'm looking at St Anton/ Bach/ Nasserein (one good option here with a family I know), reckon I can get you good info for follow up, and some great reasonably priced clean b&b's/ appartments c/w breakfast with good nearby restaurants and free skibus 10 mins access to St Anton. Many smaller places are shut up for the summer holidays so door knocking much use but friends and friends of friends giving me muchos intel........back to you tomorrow.

I generally book St Anton last minute and once stayed very cost effectively in UnterGand. One big plus was that the bus (yellow line 5) took the route down the main road and not through all the little back roads / sub villages making it very quick and a lot less crowded.

Hey Mark, yeah I have a few offers. At the moment I am also looking into a Mountain hut as an option.....

Question! would people be interested in sacrificing a few amenities to stay up in the mountains? or would we rather be in the town...?

dulcamara, I'm very interested in this trip, the other channel has me down as purple but most my off piste and day tours has been un-guided with mates around Chamonix. I've spent a lot more years climbing than skiing and like the idea of a mountain hut, but happy to go with the flow

 You know it makes sense.

It's not fixed that it has to be the hut, was hoping for some input.. my thinking was to do something more than another standard skiing holiday, something where backcountry is the main goal for the week!

dulcamara, I trust you know where it is, it's not a remote hut by any means, and not in any better position for backcountry skiing than if you stayed in town IMO, we'd be skiing past Ulmerhutte at 9.15 but you aren't we'll positioned there for Rendl where arguably much of the best backcountry is accessed from. Stay in town is my recommendation, there you have all the options first thing.

Latecomer to the ball?

Hi, I might be up for this if there is likely to be any space available. I am on the sH bashes 26/1-2/2 and 2/2-8/2 but looking to tag on the week before. No real preferences as most of what's already been discussed sounds good, I guess hutte gets you 'there' sooner but town makes the 'there' a whole lot more options!

If I can be any help in searching out any info let me know as more than happy to help out (although don't reckon I have as much local knowledge as you guys)

Markymark29, you're probably right Mark, was just thinking of touring out before the lifts open, might be nice but not worth the hassle

I have a couple of other offers around the Anton/Jakob area

-(€ 571.- per Person for 7 night and 6 day skipass. )
-(45 per night inc. Breakfast)
-(€ 31 per person per night for big appart if we can get 10 people)

might be alright

I'll be in St Anton 11th January(afternoon) and all-day 12th with 5 others, skiing off piste - and after that till the 18th we will be skiing with a guide (so not really available to ski with other snowheads).

Looks like the big trip is getting canned! the prices in S Anton seem to be a bit high for all my lazy a§§ ski-bum friends!

I will still be in the resort around that time and would like meet up with those who are around, and if anyone would like to pick up and organise something themselves I have a few quotes and contacts that you might find interesting!
