Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
My 20 year old daughter is travelling in New Zealand and has ended up in Queenstown. She has skied since she was about six, did a season in Les Arcs last year and is BASI 1 so a pretty handy skier. We know that the French won't let you guide or give private lessons but what about NZ?

FFS - do you seriously expect anyone here to say yeah have at it? Why not approach a local ski school to see of they'll give her a job. Insurance, work permit, local laws and by-laws, possible trespass, attitude of resort security/local fuzz all stuff she'll have to weigh up if she wants to privateer.
Oh and BASI 1 doesn't even qualify her for a mountain.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Marvel
, NZ appears to be "aligned" with other international quals. so I think she'll need a bit more than a BASI 1.

From personal research NZ resorts such as treble cone require a minimum of BASI 2 or equivalent for instruction and more for any form of guiding. I think something like what you're suggesting takes an awful lot more forward planning and working with the local resort.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

NZ resorts are monopolies, so they are actually stricter on people giving private lessons than France, not going to happen.
