Poster: A snowHead
|
So here I am, a ski widower, with 5 extra days holiday and no one to spend them with.
I already have a trip planed for late January but am thinking of getting a sneaky one in before Christmas.
Couple of possibilities, either the Inside Out week season opener in Meribel on the 7th December, (I've been before and it's great) or anywhere else a week later.
I could even be persuaded to get a week in after new year when prices drop if someone is keen on that week.
What I'd really like is to meet one or more people to put together a regular group, all my mates have children or their other half skis and I'm tired of single supplements and being a gooseberry!
So if anyone is in the same boat, around 40is, lives in London or surrounding counties, and is a skier happy on reds with the odd black thrown in but hates moguls, let me know and let's go out drinking and see how we get on, the more the merrier. Even better if your other half dislikes skiing, we can send them off to a spa holiday hike we ski!
Cheers
Sid

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

PSB every time. Designed perfectly for someone with 5 extra days holiday and no buddies with holiday to join them. You will find a regular group in those who go on bashes. It is a fairly core few hundred that go on the trips, with a good few dozen that seem to be on every bash.
If you're prepared to share I don't think there are supplements, and you will be amongst about 50 other gooseberries out of the 100+ snowheads.
I've found that the early January weeks with TOs have gone up quite significantly in price in recent years. I assume because they have either worked out how to cut capacity, or are getting more bookings than they used to for the first two weeks after new year. You'd be as well to sign up for something like the February Birthday Bashes or pre-Birthday Bashes.

What is the 'IO season opener' in Meribel? I have a new place down the valley from Meribel and I am looking for people to hit the slopes with anytime in the season.

The IO (inside out) season opener is a coaching holiday, see link:

I've done it before, in fact I'm in one of the pics you can see on the linked page. It's a really good coaching holiday and very good value for money and if you get really lucky you get amazing skiing - we were skiing up to our thighs in champagne powder the last time I went.
