Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Resorts and Skiing / Snowboarding in Slovakia

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A friend of mine is proposing a trip to Slovakia with her family and friends. She is a 'one week' snowboarder ( just linking turns on green runs), and her friends are early skiers ( 1 to 2 week lessons ). The attraction of Slovakia is the perceived lower cost.

She asked me for some advice as to what I thought. I've no idea about Slovakia, so while i'm doing some research on the rest of the net, I thought I'd ask you lot whether you have any thoughts , ideas or experience on Skiing or Snowboarding in Slovakia....

Richie_S, I have experience skiing in Slovakia. The best resort is Chopok, but it is usually crowded and not for beginners. There are other resorts with reliable snow, mixed type lifts, some of them are new chairlifts, but most of them are old drag lifts. All of the resorts are small compared to the Alps, 10-15 km piste here, but ideal for beginners and families.
Yes, I agree the cost is low, and the quality of accomodation is getting better.
If you need more information, I am ready to help you.
