Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Verbier may open this weekend!

Decision to be taken later today.

Slopes will be unpisted, and the biggest problem is not whether there is enough snow, but whether there is too much - 70cm already, but the 50 cm more expected before the weekend could pose too many risks to skiiers ...

it ain't over til it's over! NehNeh

NO opening this weekend.. blame the weather. However, they might open the old Mont Fort summer ski area early summer. Porté-Puymorens in the Pyrenees will open this Saturday/Sunday as planned, but its just a tad further to drive unfortunately.

Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

FreeBeer, where did you get the idea that Mont Fort may open this summer? They've taken the lift away so it would be interesting to see what mig be planned.

As well as the old Mont Fort cable car, there is still a drag lift just below the Col de Gentianes; unless they think you will still be able to ski down to Tortin/La Chaux.. (bus service from the Cleuson?!)

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

FreeBeer, well if they can keep the snow good to the "new" drag that will be quite something. The glacier's shrunk so much that it's a real schlep to have to walk out to get back up to the Mont Fort cabin.

None of those lifts are due to open until 6th July so we'll have to wait and see!

Update: They are saying they couldnt open on Saturday because of poor weather forecast, and Sunday because they couldnt get the staff. Also they are still looking to open something up on the Mont Fort in the coming weeks.

The consolation prize for anyone who voted on facebook before 8.30 am on Thursday is a free day on an ebike (yes, I know..) to be taken before the end of September. Check you name here:

Unfortunately they dont seem to have any with full suspension...
