Poster: A snowHead

Next years trip with the kids has boiled down to either Val or ADH. Anyone been with Espirit to either (or both!) and care to share experiences? We're pretty set on Espirit now and like their setup - we've been with them several times so get a useful repeat customer discount.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Richard_Sideways, depending on where the Esprit chalets are, I'd have thought the access to the learner/progressor slopes in AdH could be a big advantage - quite a lot of almost ski in/out options, depending on location. Can't comment on VdI. Sorry.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Richard_Sideways, the other question is when? I have eyed up both (haven't been to either) but as at the time I was looking at late season I avoided AdH after looking at web cams from previous years.

Richard_Sideways, I stayed in Chalet Hotel Mariandre (or something like that) in ADH as run by Esprit about 3 years back. Nb our particular group were sans les enfants terribles, but there were lots of families there who all seemed happy with life, partly as it was mid December and everyone had booked last minute on a good deal.
A good set up w v good manager and excellent staff, kids seemed v well looked after, parents had plenty of time to themselves if they wished. Food/booze fine in a chalet hotel kind of style. Decent access to slopes, incl one via the infamous lobster pots, and simple enough to ski back in. Can't recall any major downsides at all. The skiing in ADH is excellent, a v large range of stuff to do and v beginner friendly, as well as gnarly stuff for those up for that.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Another thing that may impact your decision is I believe that Esprit use Evolution 2 for children's ski lessons in Val d'Isere and ESF in Alpe D'Huez

I have been to both with Esprit and I preferred Val (which I went to twice). I preferred the Chalet/hotel there, I preferred the location of the accommodation and I preferred the resort overall. That's not to say ADH is not worth a visit. Both have the excellent Esprit child care.

Thanks all - the question kind of answered itself because of the room arrangements available (boys aren't old enough to have their own separate room so we need some kind of interconnect or shared room), and the answer Val in 3rd week of January.
