So, you can use quiver killers or binding freedom plates or whatever to share one set of bindings between multiple skis if you wanted to. Obviously there are some limits... you're probably not going to want to share the same bindings between a pair of race skis and some great big fat powder boards, cos the brake arms are going to be sticking out so far on the skinny skis you won't be able to get on edge at all.
I've looked around for a bit, and all I've found are people saying you don't want brake arms too wide. But how wide is too wide? I think the quiver porn thread has someone sharing a set of barons between a 90mm waist ski and a 107mm one, so I'm assuming you can get away with a <1cm overhang on either side without too many problems. How much overhang is too much, though? If 'it depends', what does it depend on?

Height of brakes when up, intended use of ski.
I've had 110 griffons on 85s for messing around on and they were fine. If I was fussed about racey angulation they might have been a concern and if I was doing a lot of jibbing - as opposed to the occasional lame box or pipe slide I can just about manage - I'd want narrower to ensure they didn't hook up on rails or my duds.

All depends on the brake design, for example Vist brakes 'cam in' snugly against the sides of the heelpiece when the boot's installed so you can run quite a 20/25mm overhang without a problem. I've done loads of Vist QK installations on 115mm & 90mm skis that share the same brake. Look Pivot's on the other hand, whilst superb bindings, are shoite in this respect.

the jester 110mm work fine on my 88mm wide skis, as john says they pull in well when raised.

This is mostly idle speculation at this point (I'm having a think about my toy budget for next year), but it sounds like its not a completely daft idea. For now, I'm thinking about dynafits on account of their price... I'm not anticipating using those for slalom, and the brake arms do tuck themselves in a bit: looks like the external width when stowed is pretty close to the internal width when deployed, at least on the 100mm ones I have here.

spyderjon, do you have a view on Atomic FFG 12's (90mm brakes) on 74mm waisted skis? I'm worried the shoulders might get in the way when railing and carving.

flowa, the FFG are rebadged Sallie Z series the brakes on which, although a bit fragile, do tuck in nicely when retracted so you'll be ok. On a 74mm waist ski your boot is gonna overhang quite a bit anyway although it's above the brake levers. Narrow brakes for that binding are cheap if you do need to swap 'em but you're gonna have to get some serious angles for it to be an issue.

Cheers spyderjon, I do take my angles pretty seriously - managed to double-track them today (first outing) the shoulders scrub a bit carving semi-steep but couldn't get on them on the flat.
Was worried that the bindings weren't ski-appropriate and they do look a bit 'fat-boy'. However they also look bulletproof, which is needed as they're going to be my work setup. So I think I might order some smaller spares to be on the safe side since they're available. Better safe than sorry - especially for training / demo purposes to keep my lines clean.
