Hi. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Du Golf in LA 1800?
Not too bad a price for when we want to go (cheaper there at halb board than self cat in 1950). But on neilson website it says "one entry included to the spa/pool" area. Does anyone know how much the pool area is for the rest of the week? We love a jacuzzi after cruising all day but dont want to find that its 10euros each per day (we only want an hour after the slopes). Also, is it a nice pool area

We stayed there but over 10 yrs ago. I don't even remember the pool/spa bit. I remember it had a nice dining room. The rooms were fine. It was in an excellent location with the ski lift just in front of the hotel. We did a torchlit descent from a mountain restaurant one evening and have happy memories of skiing down with the torch after a few glasses of vin chaud.

Jon Ford, Stayed there at Easter absolutely loved it and location is tops. Would normally stay in an apartment but wasn't much in it for the price. We got the only family room they have at the hotel and it was superb. Def recommend it.

They only allow kids aged 12+ in pool in case that's relevant to you.
Self service dining room works well for breakfast but is a bit school canteenish for evening meal. Italian and Savoy table service alternatives get booked up by 7-7.30am the previous day.
Heavy drinkers may find the corridors to the rooms a bit steep (think easyish Italian red run) and depending where your room is the walk to the spa or ski locker area can be VERY long.
Have to kneel in bath to take a shower to avoid flooding bathroom and usual problem of overheated bedrooms common to most ski hotels, although large sliding windows make cooling down easier/quicker than in a lot of places.
Bar area great with open fire and live music most nights.
Will allow you to puzzle friends with story of how you stayed on Xth floor of hotel with no lift or staircase!

unless of course you have had a couple of beers, then the double helix staircase is a bit of a pain.
Stayed there a few years ago, would happily go back.

thanks for all replies. 15euros a pop for the pool - bit excessive! Some good reviews (and a bad comment). Will keep looking. Friend at work advised to go to Courcheval for great sweeping blues. So may start looking into that one. No wonder I need 11 months to plan a ski holiday - far too many resorts and too many hotels to choose from
