Still no official word. Maybe it means they aren't supporting Larissa for it? Or maybe it means they are sub contracting that out?
PS was at Doug Meyers last weekend at LL and Elkwater were there. Spoke to a coach , as I was herding kids at satrt, and he said it had been a ery lowe snow season.

With FIS things are not that simple. It's not like she gets new passport and you are all set. First you are 2 years out, with no FIS racing, AT ALL! After that, you have 2 chances. 1. If your new team and your previous team agrees for this "transfer" and both, especially old team, are fine with it, you keep you old FIS points. If not, you start from zero, which means you are not even entitled to start World cup race.
Second, you will skip one Olympics no matter what. If she would do this right away, she would skip Sochi, and she could compete in next ones. If she would still compete for Canada this year (and not go to Sochi, because she wouldn't qualify for it by Canadian standards), her next Olympics would be in 8 years.
So realistically, chances for anyone competing for different nation are very very slim, and were only done with retired 2nd class Austrian and Swiss guys (and some Slovenians), who couldn't compete for their nations anymore but would still love to race, and with who year or two break didn't matter much.

I read in a few Canadian articles that Larisa still wants to compete for Canada. She is looking for a team to train with, but it sounds like she will still compete as a Canadian. It is like the situation with some other World Cup racers. Andreas Romar trains with the Swedish men (at least he did last year, when I rode on a chair lift with his trainer) but still competes for Finland. Tina Weirather trains with the Swiss women and competes for Liechtenstein.
The skiers who competed for countries like Moldova or Bulgaria were either those who could not make it on their national teams, got cut from their national teams for violating rules (e.g. Mirko DeFlorian), or, as Primoz said, retired from their national teams but still wanted to race.

dudleyf, with Andy it's not really like this. Andy is training on his own (with his own coaches) but when they are out on course, they try to go together with Germans (they were doing something with Swedes 2 years ago, but for last two season, when he also got his own coach, they are more or less with Germans). But this is more or less normal for every team. In downhill side more or less only Swiss are on their own, everyone else try to cooperate, including Austrians (talking about men teams). Downhill just takes too much to do it on your own, no matter how big team you are. First you need A LOT of money to get DH course closed, and then you need really A LOT of people to get course covered to get proper results. And it's much easier if course is covered with coaches and physios of several teams then just your own.
