Yesterday was bitter, today seemd very nice until you got up to the Cretes - vile wind. Aparently it got better in the afternoon. No time for photos, sorry.

easiski, good to meet you and the other 's in LDA Friday. We were taken to La Grave by Odrin (not sure of the spelling) from the European Ski School, name came back to me eventually.
Cheers for the sterling work with my brother and mate.

Today was warm and sunny. the Cretes was in good condition and the Valentin at about 14.00 was firm at the top, very nice in the middle and very heavy slush at the bottom. Nursery slopes very slushy late on; here's a pic of the Vikings at around 17.00

Looks a bit on the slooshy side! Will they still be using those slopes in April, or will the newbies be up on the glacier by then, do you think?
(perhaps there is another area.)

Charlotte, I guess you know what I'm thinking... I want to visit my students who are skiing and see how they are getting on. Most of them will be on their second week. I'm hoping not to have to come down to the bottom of the resort to meet up with them, especially since I don't fancy Valentin. (and I doubt if it fancies me much either!) Going up to ythe glacier, now. That is more to my taste. Any thoughts on where second-weekers are likely to be?

Chris Bish, they could be anywhere! You'll just have to ask the ESF! However, if they run true to form they won't be skiing on any learning slopes but just being dragged around the mountain - the school groups really don't get much instruction - baby sitting is the order of the day. Which company are they/you coming with?

slikedges, Wonderful photos - saves me downloading one today - not very interesting anyway, and it's late and I'm tired! (and I want to watch the champion hurdle).
Very warm day, sunny all day and boiling hot in the village in the afternoon - thank goodness my nervous ladies are now good enough to go a little way up the mountain tomorrow! More sunshine and warm temps forecast and then snow all next week - we'll see.

Nick L, Oh deffo yes! But I've now found her a "ski buddy" who's slower than her, which has boosted her no end.

Leis, I have complete trust - previous remark had tongue extremely firmly in cheek (Caroline is my sister-in-law and it was me that recommended her to easiski's over-60s beginners course).

jonm, then it's easy - come to the terrace of the Les melezes (just down the nursery slope from you at around 4pm - we'll be there - we're there every day after skiing about then. I will text Debbi. I've been putting her off waiting to hear from you and Zebedzee!

Well, sad because Debbi went home today, and as I wa waiting for eveyone else to contact me so we could have a "mass meet", I missed her as well - really sorry Debbi.
It was another hot, sunny day today (getting boring), really good skiing everywhere except on the very lowest slopes - bottom of Valentin was pretty vile at 16.00, but what do you expect? Otherwise all good. Gours was very nice at around 15.30. I finally got some pics so here they are: T Rex in the Grotte de Glace; Wendy and Richard on La Mura; "Moonland" lovely flat off piste area just off the Jandri

Frosty the Snowman, It's a great place, as you know!
Very nice again today. Just on the Cretes, snow firm but not icy first thing and now nice. Valentin fine all the way down just now. Must rush to do airport run.
