Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Was a touch warm in Morzine/Avoriaz this morning, I skied back over home to Champery where the temps were considerably lower. Although a warm wind forecast tonight here, so could be a bit freeze thaw conditions tomorrow!

Travelled over to Avoriaz from Pre la Joux and the conditions were lovely this morning. Very warm from midday though and felt very "spring like" in certain areas and was hard on the legs.

Travelled back over to PLJ and took the red down and it was great though. Apart from the odd scraped off piece of piste (those lovely boarders do such a good job of creating the RRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPP effect!!! Smile. )

Snow forecast for later in the week so looking forward to the next few days before returning to Blighty on Saturday night (although only a few weeks until we are back out for the weekend!!!!)

Got back late last night, will do a full review of an excellent 3/4 days as soon as poss and also post some photos Smile

However in summary conditions were generally pretty awesome, very cold Sun/Mon and noticeably warmer by Wednesday. I have now experienced proper powder and also had my first proper run off-piste in knee deep stuff - awesome! Bad light was the only downside, but my goggles certainly helped with that too! Full report to follow!

rayscoops, sorry mate, got your PM this morning!

Another great day in Avoriaz today. Skiid over from Pre La Joux again. Nice couple of runs down to Ardent where the snow was great and then up and over Avoriaz for some Off Piste down Floret. Conditions are fantastic!!!! Mind you, snow forecast tomorrow so may well get better.

I went our yesterday about 1pm and it wasn't at all busy - reports from the morning had been of 'bugs on a bumper' but I think everyone headed in for lunch and didn't come out again. Visibility was varied and went to do VDM but even after waiting 15min for viz to get better turned around and went for lunch in Avoriaz!

Looks mech better this morning - clear blue skies - off to have another crack about 1130!

endlessride, loving those gps trails, especially following it in Google Earth with the pics. I've been told before that you can get to Roc d-Enfer if you carry on past Chery Nord but never really understood exactly where that meant. Now I do! Very Happy All I need now is some touring kit and a guide... Confused

When we went in 2008 we watched some blind skiers going down the Wall. They were followed by their guides with mircophones saying 'droite' or 'gauche' into the blind skiers earpieces. Amazing to watch, particularly as they seemed relaxed and got down it better than most!

Am going 2 weeks tomorrow so may have a go myself, having opted out last time rolling eyes

I saw and heard a blind skier the other day. I was just having a whinge about the conidtions being so bad I couldn't see 5 foot infront of me and this blind guy rocks up in the lift queue behind me.
Fairly put me in my place that's for sure!

Sorry about that.....But its still snowing and I have been shovelling all the paths and drives here all morning!!! No teaching work either as its very quiet with the conditions and poor visibility! You will have to get up at the weekend and enjoy it! Smile when you see me snow ploughing with bunnies in the powder!

Minus 17 at 1400m 11am today and -8 in Champery village. Snowing again after a short break with sunny spells for about 40 minutes at lunchtime. Powder was ooooh so light too on top, shame the visibility was rubbish. Great runs in the trees back to resort though with waist deep pow. Forecast for more of the same tomorrow here and clear and ultra cold Saturday. No hint of warm front here yet!!! Considering at the beginning of the week very little snow was forecast and we have now had 60 hrs straight, I am not fully believing the current weather predictions beyond Saturday!!!

Rain seems a long way off today. It felt like the coldest ever in history. The mountain was deserted, managed some turns in the sun which was a relief!
