easiski, great pics (as usual), though it will be interesting to see if the forecast +9 at resort level happens tomorrow and if it does, what impact it has on the snow (may make digging you car out easier anyway).

Ray Zorro, It was warm yesterday and today, and the lowest slopes are a bit icy. However they have nothing on the pavements which are lethal! At the moment it seems OK, and the warmer temps are battening down the snow quite nicely, more snow forecast sunday, also tues and thurs (although that's a bit far ahead isn't it?) If we get some good fresh on top of this as soon as that we'll be laughing. All runs to resort are negotiable at the moment, but the Chemin des Demoiselles is a bit thin in places.
I skied toura, gours, Bellecombe and all the bits in between and there's still some very nice powder around the Toura. High winds kept the top lifts closed until about 15.00 today, so with the sunshine there were lunatic peeps everywhere! Massive avalanches all over the place too - good for education! Fee (all walls) , Rachas, Grand Couloir etc were all pretty much tracked out by early - mid-afternoon. Light wind blown, but clearly very skiable.
Pic from the top of Toura showing the wind blowing the snow off the tops
this is the stupendous view you get when you walk just a little off the top of the Toura piste - it's the start of one route down to St Christophe, and I think is one of the best views in the alps

Leis, TBH some of our terrain is quite scary! OTOH we've got lots of really nice wide (high) runs too.

brian,
I hope we find out..sounds a great little route to me... although I need to shake off this lurg 1st...

brian, think I've done that run. You end up having to ski along a footpath above a steep river valley (ravine is possibly a bit too dramatic...) then along a broader track, over a few walls then down an alley next to the restaurant. quite an adventure!

A dull day today, which started fine and sunny and changed around 11.00 to cloudy and bad light. It was a bit chilly on the glacier this morning with a bit of a breeze (north-ish I think) and when the sun went in, especially after the last couple of days, it felt positively chilly.
I skied the glacer including the dome which was lovely. The Breche and the (supposed) mogul field next to the Lac Noir chairlift. didn't find any moguls though - could see them in any case. The conditions even on the very steep bottom part of the Breche (an LDA "joke" red) were very good. A little hard skiing down to the Cretes in places, but only where everyone brushes the snow off. A fair bit of sugar snow around on well used runs. Later we did the liaison Sea-Grand Nord and route du Thuit which although busy (16.30), was good snow. didn't ski down. If I'd had more energy I would have gone for the Grande Pente, but I couldn't summon it. sorry no photo - when I remembered it was misreable anyway. Flocons of snow idly floating around as I came down the very comfortable Belle Etoile chairlift.

Easiski, is the Liaison Sea-Grand Nord the green track that runs from the top of the Diable eggs to the bottom of the cretes?

Just got back and conditions are still great up top .
The Pied Monted (sp?) side (being that bit lower) is a little harder packed in general and about 2/3 to 3/4 of the runs are open there, so it was fine for an afternoon.
The green run down was in terrible condition on Mon/Tues, with huge puddles, and it was closed on wednesday, leaving only the blacks or the lifts as a means of getting down.
Some lovely snow up higher though. Anyone going next week will find some excellent conditions.
