Yup! It looks like train to Bludenz, then bus to Langen, followed by a shuttle train to StA. Hopefully things settle a bit by tomorrow, otherwise it might take longer to get from Zürich to StA, than from Australia to Zürich. Sigh! 🙁

Weather
A very changeable and unsteady west- to north-westerly air current will determine the weather until starting next week. Further Atlantic fronts will reach us, whereby wintry cold air masses will prevail at the weekend and the snow line will remain situated in the low areas of the valleys. On Saturday morning the weather will temporarily clear up, heavy clouds will approach at noon and weak snowfall will set in. Saturday night promises rather heavy snowfall, which will temporarily cease on Sunday afternoon. Scattered sunny spells may occasionally occur. A dominant warm front will reach us on Sunday night and determine the weather until Tuesday morning. Partly heavy precipitation is expected. The snow line will rise significantly above 1500m. A high-pressure area and mild air masses will settle in from next Wednesday on.

According to SBB the trains are running again

End of announcement: Bludenz - Landeck-Zams
The disruption between Bludenz and Landeck-Zams on the Buchs SG - Innsbruck line is over.
Further delays and occasional cancellations could be possible. |

Looks like yesterday some people in influential places were dramatizing the situation for this weekend. Especially at the Austrian Railways...(the announced closure of the track to and from St.Anton until sundaynight was very uncommon. Can imagine some tourist-directors have been making very angry calls to OEBB....)
Today:
Arlbergpass and Flexenpass open
All trains running again
No heavy snow expected fri-sun
Warmer weather starting sundaynight, with rain up to 1500 m.

Another awesome day with up to 20 cm fresh powder at 2000m ... couldn’t get much above that as everything closed. Rendl opened around 11 so did a couple of laps - lovely powder but no other lifts open that side so moved back to galzig.
Finished with great band in heustal and a ski down in the dark.
Snowing again now ... but did see sun for around 20 mins today 😂

They opened Kapall later on in the day, about 14:30, something like that. Bergrettung were called out to an avalanche about quarter to 5, a few Dutchies triggered a slide that went down a couple of variants (more info on the Bergrettung facebook page). Nobody caught thankfully, it was the usual Arlberg powder frenzy again, surely only gonna be a matter of time.

Had an incredible morning in Zürs today! Not many people out at all and light fluffy powder. Visibility also improved towards lunch time. One of my best mornings of the season so far!

Aaaaaand, now it's snowing again. Talk of roads potentially getting shut again should we get the snow we're supposedly forecast. A lot of the avi barriers are already pretty loaded, and apparently the blasting around Hochkar/Gamskar shifted a fair bit, just not as much as they'd hoped.

Fantastic today when the sun came out. Fresh tracks on route 75 was my personal highlight. Less busy too on transfer day. Great way to end the week

Seriously considered extending my stay until Monday, but think I've made the right call with the return of the inclement weather shutting down lifts and causing travel disruption? Please let me know on Monday evening

Awesome day off kapall into mattun bowl a couple of times in the sun - yes sun well almost ! - then lots of laps off back and front of galzig.
Been a superb week - for us for sure ... but there are some people who have spent more time in hotel than on slopes 😳
Challenging but awesome

Hard to tell how much came down in Nasserein. Our courtyard was already full, over the fence level.
A few avi guns started up around 5:30am.
Has the makings of a great day, even though the temps have come up a bit.
8:30am Update: if the path outside our door is any indication, easily 40cm came down last night.
9am Update: pretty much everything closed. Snowing quite heavily now.

They control the ArlbergPass,Highways & Railway first before they get to work on the Ski Area.
Most of the SkivArea control is Gazex and all automaticlly controlled.

We arrived into Lech last night 18.00 road up from Stuben covered and we just made it up with full winters but avoided having to put chains on. Zürs and Lech st least 40cm in town overnight. Busy all morning above Oberlech, pistes knee deep powder. Very quiet and excellent conditions, many av barriers completely buried up high, everyone being sensible. Epic powder everywhere!

High quality snow. Weather made it challenging skiing, but still very enjoyable.
In 16 years of coming to St Anton, I cannot remember seeing anything like today. It would not be hyperbole to say that the village is buried in snow. Nassereinerstraße is a like railway cutting, fences are buried, and the village is totally cut off.

Currently stuck in Innsbruck, along with everyone else who flew in today. Any local thoughts on how likely it is the roads will open tomorrow?

Pay attention to the messages on twitter,fb etc..
They will open travel corridors when its is safe
The valley is to dangerous for travel right now.
Itcwill warm up & rain tomorrow & tuesday which will increase the avalanche danger..
High danger level will not receed until at least mid week possibly end of the week....
Best find a Hotel in Innsbruck & Ski around there..
