One thing I meant to mention, if you have Les Gets/Morzine pass and you go to Avoriaz for the day (not sure about other PDS resorts) then buy your pass in LG before you go - you will get discount on PDS day pass €32 instead of €40. Avoriaz will not give you this discount, they simply give a Gallic shrug and say it's up to Les Gets to do what they want ,

under a new name, zzz, so it was you guys that tracked it all out before those of us that have to work on Saturdays got a sneaky ski in the afternoon.
Must say it was still good and the pistes were lovely too.......
zzz - Are you up for a ski on Mon or Tues?

snowandtrek, just remind zzz to tighten his bindings before skiing.
zzz, before first run ever on his new skis, "Kevan told me to remember to do something to them before I skied on them, can't remember what it is..."
u.a.n.n., who bought the same skis, "summer wax scraping?"
zzz, (nonchalantly), "Probably, won't matter will it?"
zzz, at apex of first turn, "Oooof!",
zzz, as he dusts himself off, "No really, that was a pre-release"
all, including random gallic strangers, in the style of the chorus from Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, "yeah, whatever"
I think there were maybe another 6 "binding related" events until we reached the piste and a screwdriver.

All good today (Sunday) pistes soft, smooth and fast this morning after yesterdays powderfest here on Swiss side. The clouds are building this afternoon and the temperature is very low, few flakes beginning to fall and more forecast tonight and tomorrow. Happy skiing and wave if you see me with my beginners whilst you whiz past Les Croset baby slope enroute to powder...Bright orange Freeride Ski School jacket and white lid!!!!

Avoriaz was good today, over Swiss side also ok, light flat this afternoon but snow ok. According to someone we met this evening Mt Chery was a bit icy.

Met up with mrs zzz for a ski this morning. Lots of lovely fresh powder but visibility was pretty dire most of the time. Mr snowandtrek was suffering from a raging hangover after far too many in the Crepu!!!! so he sloped off home early - missed out on some good fresshies and a nice lunch in Abricotine.
It's still snowing......and looks like when the sun comes out should be great!

Still snowing outside, spent the day in Morzine Les Gets, Mont Chery empty and lovely powder on the pistes. Vis as mentioned above was pretty poor but didn't really matter! Awesome first full day rounded off with a few beers in Tibetan bar. Hopefully going over Super Morzine side tomorrow

Hi every one, hope the skiing is good over in Les Gets and Morzine. i did not post or meet up with any one over christmas as spent the week in Thonlon , with my daughter who had pneumonia, not the best trip I have ever had. Les gets was still wonderful and Ski Famille looked after us , and my other daughter learnt to ski , so all was not lost. I am going skiing in early March, but the peope I am travelling with , want a big night life, I do not think Les Gets offers this. They have mentioned Charmonix, but although I have never been have heard it is a bit...."Burberry" and I have heard that buses are needed?? Has any one got an opinion or a recomendation. We are driving and it is going to be long weekend. More at the luxury end then basics.
Many thanks.

Still snowing in Thollon last night, at least 7-9cm in the village (1000m) alone and there was already a good amount (about 90cm) higher up at the telecabine.
After the very dry end to December, what a wonderful sight, snow, snow, snow!!.

Hi JasonLVC, Welcome to snowheads. There's so few of us in Thollon at the moment we will probably bump into each other in the supermarket.
Cloud lifted in Chatel/Linga today for some good skiing on fresh snow. Icy in parts though .
