Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The webcam is decptive. The southerly wind last week has loaded the hut face and savages gulley making for more extensive than usual cover and depth there. Only the very bottom of the tow is slightly patchy.
Should easily hold out until the next cold spell later this week. Today should be a stunner

Hi, as a first time visitor to Snowheads, I am shocked at the uniformed comments regarding the cost of skiing at Raise. Where these irate posters get there information from I can only wonder?
The Lake District Ski Club has worked hard to encourage day & casual visitors by setting a combined membership & 1st day pass at £30. With the option of £15 /day hence or £25 to top up for the season.
£50 for a season's skiing (36 possible days so far) seems to represent good value.
Finally a reminder to those on a quest for a quick fix ski.
Raise is staffed entirely by volunteers, everything to run the place is carried up the mountain, the ski terrain & weather can be more challenging than most other resorts in the UK, no pisting facilities and a 60 minute walk from the road.
That is exactly why some people think it is special!
Saying that, you will get a nice friendly welcome and you can warm yourself and make a well-earned cuppa in the lovely pine clad members hut.
See you there

Yes,
great weather, great snow, great company - what more for £50 / yr?
I am off to sample White Corries for a few days - but I will miss the Premier Ski Resort in England.
Bernie plans to run Tow Thursday - but pleas check Snowline first.

Day 58 at Raise.
The rumour I heard is that the senior ski tow engineer - Bernie - is going for 81 days skiing this season. A day from every year of his age |
