I have only ever used couchevel ski instructors. The jobs they had in the summer where a mountain guide, boat skipper and a horse trainer. They all sound pretty good to me.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

well, I suppose if you also have the (very difficult to get) qualification to be a high mountain guide, or an RYA Yachtmaster, or know how to train horses, in addition to the qualifications needed to teach skiing in Courchevel, you can expect to get plenty of fun jobs. But that assumes you have put in the years of study and practice required. Most of us would struggle to be able to do just one of those jobs.
You should note that they are all rather badly paid, too. Tend to be done for love, rather than money, except for the most highly qualified, well placed, well connected and good looking. If you are none of the above, probably better not give up the day job.

I the season never ended then many resorts would close. There would not be the skier numbers to justify keeping all the lifts and infrastructure open.

I wasnt putting myself up for a red jacket. I can't believe im not well connected.
My point was that looking from the outside they seem to have the right balance for a year round season involving skiing.
If as you can, as you say get a job that you can do for love not money then you are pretty much sorted.

as long as you're not expecting to have much of a family life, or be able to invest in a house, or have a pension when you get too old to do any of those things, maybe?

There where plenty of the older ESF instructers who had families and their own houses.
I didnt ask them how their pension plan was going.

EASISKI, I agree the grass is always greener. I still sounds good though.
I think most of us brits have never been told about summer skiing.
