The scary thing is that a number of the skiers in STEEP, as in many of the extreme skiing movies, are now dead.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Chris Brookes, I'm still really undecided whether to add films like Hot Dog to the database cause they're more films with skiing than skiing films. If that made sense...

Bode Swiller, I checked up on that film.. do you mean "Ski to the Max" ? If so... That would be the first ski film I watched! I can just about remember it.... |
The only decent thing HOTDOG...THE MOVIE had going for it was the skiing...which was pretty good !

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

No 'Soul Sessions and Epic Impressions' yet? I think this may have been Seth Morrison's first film - my copy has now gone to the VHS resting place in the sky

Do you know which production company made it?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Timmaah, I think it was one of the very early Matchstick ones and Google seems to agree with me, although there is surprisingly little info anywhere on the net. I think McConkey and Coombs were in it. Mike Wilson as well maybe?

Alright... cheers for that alan. I'll do some digging and try to get it up today!
Something I've noticed is that professional companies always ignore their first films and generally don't want people to find out about them. I had one company ask me to take down their first film from the database!

That's odd. I suppose everyone's a little embarrassed by their early stuff but that seems a bit extreme.
I'm hoping that MSP etc make all their old films available to download at some point. I think there are probably quite a few from the mid/early 90s that I'd like to see again. Nice site by the way, Timmaah. Just remembered another - 'Sick Sense' - another MSP one from later in the '90s, which was OK but not as good as 'Soul Sessions'. Looked at your MSP list again and there's nothing pre-2000 - they probably released at least a handful (including the 2 I've mentioned).
Ski DVD time this evening I reckon - the countdown to winter begins

Timmaah, do you know, or have you discussed the idea of legally paying for and downloading ski films?
I tend to watch them on my travels, hence I'd love to be able to download slightly less quality than DVD for less cost...
regards,
Greg

kitenski, I know that iTunes has a collection of films, granted you have access to the US store. It is a very good idea though, and I will look into it.

Find out someone who has a us-address/us-registered credit card. Not sure which one exactly you need..
In site news, I got Reasons and Hunting Yeti in the post so will be putting reviews of them up soon.

Hey guys.. quick update for you.
*Got a new logo on the site.
*Compiled a list of all the free legal ski films out there! Nothing better then free ski porn. Click here
*Hunting Yeti and Reasons reviews are up
*Interview with Noah Howell, film producer of Powderwhore Productions (telemark company) is up. Click here
I am absolutely backlogged with films to review but I think I'll do Children of Winter next, so look out for that.
Excuse the blatant spam!

You know it makes sense.

Timmaah,
Look out for "No Mans Land" - some of the best female skiers on the planet. I think (but am not sure) that it was made by Radical, who are probably better known for MTB movies.
