Poster: A snowHead

Sounds to me like a good plan for novices here is to post where we are off to and ask if anyone has experience with the various lifts and will we find any scary surprises at the tops when we get there - some of the later posts sound downright scary.

this thread is getting like one of those childbirth horror story sessions people come up with to "reassure" a nervous mother-to-be. Poor notverygoodatskiing is looking for some reassurance! Just do the deep breathing and don't push till you're told, and you'll be fine. Get someone else to carry your poles, as various people have suggested. And learn how to shout "get out of the effing way!" in all known languages.

Swirly, this particular lift was not so much as plunging straight down, it but lwas ong and narrow and hemmed in at both side, so there was no chance of a quick stop and hop to the side, you had to ride it like the cresta run ! Also it was an older chair lift that did not really slow down too much as i can recall

If I do, I usually find him next to the chairlift queue, tapping his watch.
