Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Superfeet insoles - alternatives?

Good thread, a direct result of reading it I have dug out my superfeet black insoles and am going to use them in my hockey boots for training tonight.

Write a report on the experiment...

Interestingly for football (where you are on toes a lot) I find flat insoles best. For running & hiking some arch support helps. For skiing more stability essential. But again that is just my experience and everyone's feet different. I have a big bag of insoles from older shoes / boots that I experiment with.

Short report.

It was an extremely rainy session so my feat were completely soaked, the superfeet insoles coped with the wet much better than the usual ones because they are non-porous.

Comfort wise the superfeet insoles were fine, only minor issue was they seemed to grip my feet less than the usual ones, because the top sheet is a bit firmer, so my feet moved within the boots slightly more (probably a hockey boot fit issue more than an insole issue)

The black fitting was pretty good because it is low volume enough for me to retain the ankle support from the hockey boot.

When I took them out after getting home there was some damage to the inside of the hockey boot where the teeth at the back of the superfeet insoles pressed into the boot interior, nothing significant but might become an issue over time.

I didn't get any foot pain or injuries, leg joints felt fine afterwards (marginally better but really difficult to tell of if my mind is making it up).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Henwc, out of interest as a field hockey player I’m assuming you are talking about ice hockey as you mention a boot?

@kitenski, I play field hockey not ice hockey, the term "hockey boot" is a hangover from many years ago when I started playing on grass as a youngster. I guess the younger generation use the term hockey shoe but I'm old school in that respect. Sorry for any confusion.

@kitenski, City of Peterborough (lower teams) but I don't really have time to play much weekend hockey because of family commitments (long distance away games every other Saturday isn't really an option). I'm aiming to step it up when my son is a bit older and we can both play in one of the lower lads and dads teams.
