Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Powder Skirt - Why?!

Seems easy to ignore it, as I do with mine. That said, if you're otherwise underdressed, fastening it might be less drafty.

Notable current members include HP, NEC, Microsoft, Apple Inc., Intel, and Agere Systems. It's headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, USA.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I’m told they come in useful when you want to stuff a nice beer glass into your jacket.

@Layne, Agere systems? No longer exists! I know cos I used to work for them, formerly known as microelectronics division of Lucent Technologies. Lucent formely known as AT&T...
But I'm not sure what the connection is with Powder Skirts. Did I miss something?

Not a fan, but I can (just about) see the point of a powder skirt if the snow is deep enough but it depends what kind of pants you wear. For those days I'd always use bib pants anyway which make a powder skirt a redundant nuisance. Was glad to see that Arc'teryx dropped the powder skirt from the Rush jacket a couple of seasons back. That sorted my issue (expensively) but as someone else already posted, a non ski-specific goretex shell (like the also slightly expensive Beta AR) will do the job just fine and have a lot of other daily uses too.

My OH is a snowboarder though and she tells me that a powder skirt is useful due to the amount of time boarders spend falling over Very Happy
