@biddpyat, maybe it was the various front row forward types who I was sitting with. They were very happy as the Irish beat the English

My best man and I are in the process of organising my stag along similar lines as yourself.
We are trying to avoid France due to being much more expensive for drinks, food etc. At the moment our shortlist is: Mayrhofen, Saalbach or Sauze D'Oulx. When we were in the 3V in Jan, a beer and burger set me back 35 euros. In Saalbach, a beer and large pizza and chips cost me 22 euros. That difference will add up over the course of the trip!
If we were to do France, we may look at VT.
One other factor to consider is the transfer, but by the look of it you may be going for a week? Which means the length of transfer isn't too much of an issue. We are doing a 4 night trip so didn't want a 2 hour plus transfer.
Another thing is, do you really need a chalet? I've only ever done chalet ski trips which is great with the group of friends we are with/couples. However I don't think a stag would get the best value of the extra money? Especially as I assume that you'll be partaking in much apres, rather than sitting in front of a wood burner waiting for dinner (if catered).
We are looking at the accommodation as just somewhere to sleep (we still want it decent, but we don't plan on spending much time there).
Also, think about whether you are that bothered about snow conditions and when you go? We are planning on March as we'd rather be out on the sun terrace with a beer and longer days. However, if you want better snow conditions (unless you go high) then you may want to go in late January?
Anyway - here is the thread I posted that got some good advice

If the bride to be isn't a skier then forget the Apres Ski and get in as much skiing as you can while you are allowed.

Personally never understood why people do stag trips to the Alps, yes its great to be on taerraces drinking beers in the sun but there's cheaper and safer (for everyone else sake) places to get ratted i'd have thought.

Sol and Sauze always had the reputation as the places to tear it up, not sure re chalets though, perhaps Air BnB (I know they do them in Sauze).

Sauze more sedate these days. You should definitely go to Sol!

I'd rather spend the money on a skiing stag and doing something I love than a long weekend in Blackpool or Benidorm....

would love to do this for my own stag as well. 3/4 nights, roughly how cheap could i do it for in order to get as many people to go as possible?

Flights, accom, lift pass, transfers and equipment anything from £350+
Really depends on where and when you go, and what flights are available.
Have a look on sunweb for accom and lift pass prices. More people that you can squeeze into an apartment the cheaper it will be.

Easyjet fly bristol to Innsbruck 3 days a week, quite easy to flights for less than £100 & accomodation with lift pass for £300-£350 on sunweb if its not peak season.

We've priced up (with some guess work ahead of 20/21's season prices) and expect it to be all in for £350-400 for a 4 day trip and 3 days skiing.

Very surprised by that comment! Our guests are usually pleasantly surprised, after skiing holidays in France, Switzerland, and also St Anton and Ischgl.

I remember Saalbach being expensive, but in a different league to Tignes Le Lac, which was mental prices.

Example prices from Saalbach, based on our recent experience:
• Pork cutlets in a tasty sauce, rice and salad – 8 euros (Evening, Bobby’s Pub)
• Meaty spare ribs with a jacket potato, sour cream sauce and salad – 9.5 euros (Evening, Bobby’s Pub)
• Large Diavolo pizza (recommended!) and a half litre of decent house wine – 16 euros (Evening, Parma Pizzeria)
• Mixed grill (superb – steak, turkey and pork spare ribs) – 17 euros (Evening, Soul House/Backstattstall restaurant)
• Gulasch soup – 5 to 7 euros (Lunchtime – mountain restaurants)
• Tirolergroestl (Bacon, egg, potato, onion fry-up) – 8 to 9.5 euros (Lunchtime –most mountain restaurants)
• Half a grilled chicken and chips – 10.5 euros (Asitzbraeu mountain restaurant, Leogang)
A half litre of beer will normally cost around 4.00-4.50 euros, unless of course at happy hour. Possibly 5.00 euros in places like the Hinterhag Alm. Just under 4.00 euros last season in Bobby's Pub.
A glass of house wine or spritzer will normally cost between 3.00-4.00 euros.

Hi all. Tbh we didn’t eat out in Saalbach so I couldn’t comment on the prices of food. We just, ahem, drunk quite a bit. Maybe because nightlife was better and longer it was more expensive due to duration !

Les Arcs.....we went on my now son-in-laws Stag there last Feb.
Was excellent - stayed in a ski world chalet, loads of drinking options all night in 1800 or wherever you stay, apres at Arpette.
Even better a Folie Douce opens there this winter that is easily reachable from 1800 for non skires and all round for skiers

Apparently this place is VERY stag: https://www.hausromeo.at/en/
Apart from that, having endured far too many alpine stag dos, I'd also say Ischgl or Saalbach Hinterglemm are pretty solid choices. Rotterdam had a brilliant apres ski scene with a much better M:F ratio but the lift system was a bit lacking (nobody cared)

Our annual ski trip to Tignes was a stag do in 2014, instead of the core group there were 15 or so - not all for the week - we took over a small chalet in Lavachet.
Fantastic week, the skiers did their thing during the day and those needing lessons etc did theirs. We all met up for dinner then out for the usual beers and shenanigans. Given the demographic at the time (late 40s to mid 50s), it all worked out well as nobody really wanted banging nightlife.
Later in the week when those debutants had their legs, we had a wee jaunt to the Folie Douce in the afternoon - smashing stuff !
I have never thought it matters where you go for a "do" its more about the people there. Skiing is actually a good idea as it keeps you (mostly) off the booze during the day and kills off any hangovers - I simply cant imagine some sweaty beach stag do at my age........
