Just read your reports, more positive than I had actually expected it to be! Never been to L2D (usually just to Les Gets, FR), ill be arriving on the 30st. Does anyone know the weather prospects for that week? (Can't seem to find a good one myself :S) anyway, hope to get any wiser here!

Redcc, sorry to say it doesn't look likely to snow until the end of next week. therefore, get as much skiing in as early in the week as poss and leave the partying till the end - whatever the date is!

Redcc, I was in L2A at the beginning of Nov and there was absolutely no snow whatsoever but once I'd got used to the boilerplate ice, I thought the skiing was pretty good TBH. Any improvement on that has got to be good...

Just to add my tuppence worth, from the perspective of a seriously wimpy skier for whom ice, bobbly bits and most other things short of pisted perfection have me reaching for the double Vin Chaud.
Got back from LDA on Xmas eve after the most excellent week! Apartment - (Paul McK) boots - (Lee at Lockwoods and CEM), instruction - (well, who do you think!), company both on and off the slopes,(Little Tiger, Easiski, Latestarter and family) snow and sunshine all brilliant thanks to the aforementioned snowheads (Ok, maybe the snow and sun bit is beyond even snowheads reach - but nevertheless both in abundance for my needs) Obviously I can't speak for the 'tricky stuff' as the closest to that I got was forming part of the welcoming party for easiski and little tiger on their descent to the village one day but nowhere throughout the whole week had me freaking at what was underfoot, indeed far from it! Yes, some of the lifts and some of the runs are closed but plenty aren't and for me(with all the associated caveats) what was there was pretty close to as good as it gets!

Redcc, I think it's crowded, but some of this week's clients say it's the quietest holiday week they've ever skied - glacier is always OK as it's so big and wide! Later fewer peeps up there cos it gets cold. Never fear, if you fancy meeting up (prob not as I'm old and boring) for a coffee - you don't have to have ski lessons to say hi!

easiski, As you know, I am thinking of staying in Venosc in Feb. I don't really want to have to carry skis/boots all the way back every day, what are the options for me?

Lizzard, Yes - realised after I went out! Anyway, it was snow around the top of the cretes and here are pix of CLOUDS!

I took all the photos at around 09.30, since then it got very hot and suny, but is now looking positively threatening
Ray Zorro, You can leave your stuff in the centre of town at Brun Sports for 2€ pn/pp right by the Jandri Express, but I think you can also rent space/lockers at a shop nearer the red eggs. Not sure, but you wouldn't want to go the centre every day. Worst comes to the worst you can leave them at Jacques Sports I think, but I've only used those lockers for peeps who are renting from them.
