The weather's gone mad. Today was freezing. The water temperature is still low, after a long cold winter, but today it was consistently well above the air temperature all day. It's now blowing a full gale, gusting force 10 after the wind veered - a front, no doubt - and as my house is pretty fully exposed I feel like I'm on the deck of a trawler. Did we have summer on the Bank Holiday weekend? Was that it?

New snow overnight, (lots) more due Thurs/Fri apparently. I hope it warms up next week, I'm supposed to be going kayaking and camping!

Shouldn't you be starting this for next season?
Chatting to some locals from St. Martin de Bellville, they were saying that this year look like being the first year in about 15 years where they reckon snowfall is enough, if combined with a mild summer, to be a net positive year for the glaciers. Whether this is accurate or not depends on whether drink fuelled bar talk can be relied upon.
Certainly, I have never seen so much deep snow high up at this time of year.
Question for those who can remember a long time back - is there any chance of any of this snow staying around through July/august to next season above 2800??? Nothing seems to have melted much above 2600 yet.
