I was wondering why I was the only one excited in the weather thread, @BobinCH has pied piper'd them all off here
I've been salivating over this weekend's / early next week's predictions already. Do the above squiggles suggest more action beyond next week and into Easter?

@BobinCH, your daughter is a talented skier! Might have to hang up my boots and skis after watching those vids. Not sure I'll ever be as assured!!

@BobinCH, desktop. Firefox. Your commentary above taked up 2 1/2 screen's worth

Well that was better than I thought
Above 2,300 progressively better, and freshies of 5-10 , even descent into valley was good as frozen cordoroy had softened up and was perfect untracked Spring, maybe better than the fresh up top

@BobinCH, ah. Well perhaps little can be done then. I don't have the smartest of laptops

@under a new name, can confirm it does look big on a laptop / desktop, but normal on android. Personally I prefer the big sizes for most pictures (granted, maybe not the tabular forecast one!).
Hope plenty of snowHeads manage to get out and enjoy the fresh snow over the next few days.

A different question but related to spring skiing. how many freeze thaw cycles does the snow need to become nice corn?

The arlberg- Can’t see up high and lower down icy pistes with soft bits in between but can see! High up one turn is deep snow next one sheet ice but you can see what it will be !

@Mother hucker, it depends, afaik; depth of fresh, temperatures, how much solar radiation and cloudy/ clear skies overnight all factors. Not sure there’s a simple rule of thumb. But happy to be corrected if others know better.

@Mother hucker, it's a science I'm still learning
But does depend on how intense the overnight freeze is and subsequent thaw, and obviously what altitude & aspect is that you are skiing and what time of day you start, and then throw cloud and wind into the mix, and of course time of year, like I said a bit of a science
This time of year, can be just two days, I've skied cold snow on one side of a valley and Spring on the other.
We can pretty well be planning on skiing NW aspect & Spring snow now, and especially with the clocks going forward so we can plan to descend later than we would if more classic S facing orientation.
With snow tomorrow, I'm hoping for cold snow lift accessed Monday morning, then spring snow touring options Tuesday.
