So... Would you rather ski now or in a week of non stop snow?
Non-stop snow please
Haven't quite skied in non-stop snow this week, but pretty close. It's nice to have one sunny day, so you can ski knee deep pow and enjoy the views!

Happy Christmas all. Santa has left a message in my stocking "snow delivery delayed due to bulk orders from Snowheads members but will arrive by express sleigh Asap"
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@jbob, sometimes, "you learn to _ the _ you have" is the secret to a happy life (sometimes not!)
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

@nozawaonsen, Happy Christmas and thanks as always for your terrific work!

Unfavourable weather is not limited to ruining ski holidays. My dive got cancelled because of rough sea and upcoming storm!

No significant change from the met office out to mid January and beyond.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@buchanan101 who on earth is happy to ski in conditions like the ones that are now, instead of snowstorm. this is ice skating, people who love it dont even have to come out to the mountains to ski these conditions, go to Dubai instead and enjoy.

Ditto...
Sat on terrace in Champery listening to poor ski schools scrapping past on ice, poor devils, slush later..
Sat in sun checking emails and book reading, chilling nicely !

Weather in the UK is not necessarily unrelated to weather in the Alps.

Happy Xmas @pam w, no, but the UK forecast isn't shedding any illumination on the European snow situation

Jetstream forecast to drop below the alps on 7th Jan.
snow continues to melt on south facing slopes but is holding up okay in the shade. Lots of mud in places. A pisteur said the resort might close after new year week if there is no new snow but I don't know if this is serious, certainly things can't go on for long like this. It was 10C at resort level and possible to eat out on the terrace with just a long sleeve top (well some folk were in t-shirts).

@drvosjecha,
Must be a fair weather skier. Skiing is skiing no matter where it is. Good conditions or bad conditions it's still skiing.
Not if there's no snow it ain't

I think Peter S may have half an eye on Cumbria - where the army are assisting flood victims today, Christmas day ....They've had a devastating few weeks.
I care.

Me too. A bunch of people had their Christmas dinner in my old school canteen, and the army were setting up flood defences for what's expected tonight and tomorrow. This will be the fourth time in a month if the rivers go again
