Alastair that's reassuring one of my party had a colleague just come back from C1650 and said conditions had detoriated due to warm weather. Grateful for info on pistes around courchevel if you are over there at all. any snow forecast in the next week-though we don't arrive until the 11th. I just want a nice base for when we get there

Alastair. Ouch! Very sorry to hear that. A collarbone is the only bone I've ever damaged in skiing - about 30 years ago. It's an annoying injury. Wishing you a good recovery ...

Oh dear! That's another snowHead with season-long access to the slopes that's picked up a fracture (PG last season, eEvans this season). Hope you make a quick recovery.
How was the recovery from the piste - did you have the same bad service that snowbunny got last season?

Alastair, What a shame. I hope you have a really quick recovery. Just think - NH jockeys only have a mandatory 2 weeks off for a collarbone - in the old days they used to ride with broken collar bones - wouldn't recommend it though. Hope the docs are all good. Keep off the booze until the pain goes away. Hopefully we'll all see you fit and well at the EOSB.

Thanks again, everone, for your kind comments. At least the painkillers seem to be working!

Overcast all day today, with light snow all afternoon - just a few extra cms on the ground.

About 20cm of fresh snow overnight, with another 40-80cm forecast by tomorrow morning. Heavy snow at the moment. Bad news: winds of up to 90km/h expected for a while this afternoon. Most lifts opening late (or not at all) today. Brief respite expected tomorrow morning, then more snow.

You know it makes sense.

More heavy snow and high winds overnight - and it continues. Transfer day - and the road into VT has been blocked for quite a while, although it seems to be moving very slowly now.

Correction to the above - the road is still blocked (for over a couple of hours now). When they get the road running, chains mandatory from Les Menuires upwards. No lifts running - extensive avalanche blasting in progress. Heavy snow continues and shows no signs of abating. Looks like I won't be the only person here not skiing today. Still, at least I'm not a transfer rep!

Foggy and many pistes closed today, so crowded skiing in a white out apparantly . More snow has been falling - once again, more than I think was expected. Avalanche warning level remains at 5.

still seems to be snowing in courchevel. just 5 days to go now. Happy for it to continue until Friday. SCGB forecasts snow up to Weds.

Yes, it's snowing here again today. Forecast suggests this is going to continue for a while.

I think my intercession with the Snow Gods has worked. Now asking for it to continue for Weds and thursdays but am now placing my order for sunshine for friday as i've no wish to spend a night in bourg st maurice or have a 6 hour transfer from grenoble.
