PILA - the good news is it is lovely and Sunny, the views are great; the bad news is this is pants for the skiing. All piste are open and very well groomed over night, so they start of ok but soon do get scraped down to icy patches. Never seen so little snow here at this time of year.
Did run 2 at 2:30 and it was a nightmare put us off doing anything else. Best run we did was 14, as it is always quiet on that one, so not as bad but the steep bits were not very grippy.
Runs through the trees under the lifts are just ice and grass - not that I venture there anyway.
It was 9c up here today and bad news is it is due to get warmer, clear freezing night tonight so they should be making snow where they can.
cbowls30, hope you like a challenge. You pays your money and rolls the dice.

PILA - same today 9C and bright sunshine but the piste seemed better maybe we were in better places.
Started off over on 18 which was fine so up the Grimondet chair from there to do the top. 18 was closed and 17 (where it faced the sun) was brown in places but actually skied fine. Back over to lower 18 and round again before the kids got there and we headed off to the quieter 12,13,14. I have to say that it was very good skiing if a little slippy in places.
We have avoided 1,2,3 as we do think they will be bad and the high stuff off Couis1&2 lifts as they do look shininy. Usual quiet time especially at lunch.
We have had a ball so far (apart from run down 2 yesterday) so I am sure you will too.

thanks for that, i'm sure its going to be fine, all the forecast for next week are showing the temperatures are going to drop..... we've been before and always found no.1 and 2 to be a bit icy in places, not too bothered about doing those runs if they are like that ! thanks again.

cbowls30, powellshire, Even hotter but they have bashed it down over night so a quick stop before lunch and carry on until 2:30 is still ok. Everyone is off the mountain then and very quiet over lunch.
Bit of a queue for Couis2 lift as every one going high but no need to go up there if you don't want the steep stuff. They have got 12 out for Slalom comp but 13 &14 still good. Getting brown spot on some pistes where they face the sun but not that many. It is actually good skiing, much more quality miles than crap visibility - so keep the wall to wall sunshine for me.

Here in Kronplatz/Sella Ronda it's been absolutely roasting today 12c at 09:30 and hit 15c this afternoon. Fortunately snow making is everywhere and grooming is superb, so no bald/icy patches anywhere. Needs to cool down soon or it's all over.
Suntan and extended lunches on sunny terraces are the order of the day.

We drove up to Marmolada for 1st lifts this morning. Did it 3 times and it was probably the best conditions of the season. The views were stunning up there today and the pistes were spot on.
Had a late lunch and played around in the Plan de Gralba snow park this afternoon when it went slushy. It cooled down later on and most people finished early so the last runs of the day were completely empty
Going to be very warm tomorrow then start cooling down again so the snow should be fine.

PILA - flipping hot again 14c at lunch with everything very soft after 1pm. No snow making going on not sure why maybe too warm over night; but they are managing what they have well. Everything is open and good to ski.
Local weather has the same for tomorrow then getting colder ( there are even some - signs in front of the numbers which would have been very novel for this trip ) with some snow coming on Monday. Hope it is good for you lot coming next week
