Has anyone got any recommendations for an instructor pls? Out in March with my 18 and 16 year old and my first choice Johanna from Performance/Powder Extreme is on maternity. If someone could clone her that would be ideal. It’s their first time in Verbier and if conditions allow we want to do backside and other classics so instructor must have Brevet and be great company obvs

@Guernseyfreerider, I spent a great week training with Rob Stanford from Warren Smith Ski Academy. Could be worth checking them out.

@Guernseyfreerider, I think you’d need a mountain guide for backside. Powder Extreme are not allowed to go there AFAIK. What dates in March?

@Guernseyfreerider, the regulations changed a couple of years ago...a Brevet can't take people Backside, only a guide.
Rob Stanford will be almost certainly tied up with instructor training, but I'd agree that he would be my absolute 1st choice.

Verbier would have been mega busy today...and tomorrow will be the busiest day of the whole season.
What a good idea it was to ski in Bruson!
Nearly empty pistes, no queues...well at the main chair we did have to wait for the second chair...by Bruson standards that IS busy!
Pistes all very good, just a couple of slightly off colour patches, but 100pct coverage and very good skiing conditions indeed.

Does anyone know where you can pick pre-booked lift passes up from in Nendaz? Presumably you can get them in the Tracouet gondola base station?
Also, does anyone have any good recommendations for ski hire in Nendaz, other than just looking at the places linked on the Nendaz website?

@milzibkit, I used these to rent some touring skis last March:
https://www.sommet-et-neige.com/en
It's run by Jamie Kagan who is head of eduction for IASI. He also runs the Sommet et Neige ski school.
Right next to the lift up the hill to the tracouet gondola too.

Apologies for interrupting all the wonderful stoke! I'm heading out to Nendaz on Tuesday for ~3.5 weeks. Been about 20 years since I was last in the Verbier ski resort so had couple questions I was hoping people could help me out with!
I'll be driving over from Geneva, is it worth me stopping off at Sion to get groceries for most of the trip or are the prices in Nendaz going to be similar?
And.. does anyone know of any guides that do mixed groups? Seem to only be finding option of booking private which is tricky as I'm solo! Have about 35+ days of touring across North America/Japan/Norway/Alps, done a few seasons so can handle my own in the backcountry but would definitely like to lean on a guide for some more steep stuff if weather permits!
If anyone has any recommendations on bars and stuff that would be greatly appreciated too!

@Timmaah, believe the coop/migros in Nendaz are the same price as elsewhere, but don't quote me on that.
There is a Lidl in Sion though, so that's likely to be cheaper than any supermarket in Nendaz

If you are going shopping before you get to Nendaz get off the motorway at Conthey which has all the shops and parking is much easier than in Sion. Denner is recommended for cheap wine, Coop and Migros are in Nendaz and Conthey but Conthey are much larger although prices are the same.
Try mountain magique to see if they will add you to a small group but don’t raise your hope

Headed over in a few weeks - we're being turfed out of our apartment near Médran at 10am but want to get a morning of skiing in - is there anywhere to leave bags for a morning round there? Looks like there are some ski lockers at the lift station but I'm unclear if they would fit a suitcase / snowboard bag.

Been a while since I used those lockers but 98% sure they won’t fit a suitcase.
