Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Italy situation

@Alastair Pink, useful update thanks.

I think the main Sella Ronda circuit and connected offshoots come under the Veneto province. That’s currently in the least restricted ‘yellow’ zones.

Some of the further west, wider Dolomiti ski areas, might come under Bolzano province, which, as you said, is in the most restricted ‘red’ zones.

I stand to be corrected and certainly you’re right that the recent trend and overall situation in Italy does not look at all good.

@DaveD, Very much my preferred destination too but ready to change to plan B, which will probably have morphed through plans C, D and E by mid Jan. I suspect Italy are heading for another full lockdown.

Corvara and that area are in Alto Adige ( South Tyrol) and Cortina is in Belluno ....The restrictions seem to be the same as for Trentino

@PeakyB, A good part of the Sella Ronda (plus bits like "hidden valley") is in Südtirol, so is in a "red" zone. The Val di Fassa area (Canazei etc) is in Trentino and Arraba & Cortina is in the Veneto which are both currently "yellow" but for how long difficult to say. The Veneto was markedly more effective at dealing with all this than some other Italian areas earlier in the year and opened up earlier than many other areas.
