Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

He was skiing well but got late and came out on the video run and did pretty well on a slick course in the second. I didn't get to compete so was filming.

@skimottaret, looked like he was just blowing up as the video cut out at the end wink still, i have been useless on the occasions I have attempted gates so I am in no position to criticise. very impressive progression through that vid though. an example to us all!

@Arno, I did come out at that gate and couldn't recover as @skimottaret correctly says, I was getting later and later. (I take solace in the fact that 3 of the openers, whilst closing, came out at that gate too!) Smile
@skimottaret, is also being very kind as I don't think I skied the 2nd run very well, but it was great to see how psychologically I dealt with coming out in the first run and there were many lessons learnt.

All a great experience and I am looking forward to getting into more gates with a view to hopefully passing next season.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but after rereading this I am intrigued to find out he Mike got on? Anybody out there know the rest of the story? Did he achieve the 5 year plan?

@The_catcher, He messed up a knee whilst training for the Eurotest after the video I shot and I believe was in rehab for quite a while and wasn't able to make his five year goal..

Oh that's a shame, given that the threads already a few years old hopefully he has succeeded now. Still very impressive to get as far as he did in such a short space of time.
